About Me:
Creating alternatives for better living, including how we do business & market the business we do. Currently developing a social enterprise(s) that starts with art and invites others to join in to become part of solutions addressing issues that range from environmental crisis to poverty.

Cultural Fusion is both the initiating force behind a movement and a series that utilizes mixed media, performance, FOSS technology, found objects, text, light, digital art, and emerging tech (biosensors, etc) to create installations where the audience and event sponsors becomes co-creators informing the evolution of the series.

Currently seeking Dream Team members, let me know if you're interested. (Cultural Fusion social network coming soon)

Do you consider yourself an Outsider Artist? If so why? Whynot?
Yes, because my current series seeks to do with art what most would consider beyond the practical reach of such. By combining ingredients beyond the "art world" i intend to push the boundaries of art to create works with purpose based on our endeavor to develop Cultural Fusion "art as philosophy". This is where an art series births solutions to real world problems and crisis.
Are you an artist, or a collector?
artist
What is your favorite type of work to create?
increasingly installations, but generally mixed media paintings

Process as Art, Living in the Flow

Earlier today I recalled a story my Grandfather had told me about his childhood. The gist of the story was that during the Depression there was a season where they had to wear shoes with the soles worn away to the point that they hardly qualified as such. "So what did you do, Grandpa?" I asked. "I went on to school and all else I was s'pose to do." he answered in a tone that suggested I mind my common sense. He went on to tell of going to church with his Mom in t… Continue

Defining Opportunity Spaces

Although I've been a bit quiet, there is much going on behind the scenes. Among the things in progress is the paper I've been developing about the context and lessons of Cultural Fusion. In that pursuit I have again revised the opening. This article is an excerpt from my paper/manuscript still in progress. The biggest change is that profit and social capital divorced :-( I was initially very sad about this, but alas social capital has a new love and it is a romance made in cyberspace!Continue

Thank you for the welcome, Yvette. I have been looking at your work and falling in love with your use of colour, the breaking of the frame in the latest painting and your ability to WRITE about your philosophy of art-making. Words in my hands, clunking clunk-clunk from an atrophied intellect.. no clarity. I will be back to read more.
